Subway Stop: "LICEU" (Line 3, green)

Cinema Maldà is the oldest single-screen cinema in Barcelona. Located in one of the most charming places in ancient Barcelona, surrounded by art galleries, chocolate shops and traditional shops. The room is located in the old chapel of the Palau Maldà which, conveniently remodeled, housed the first open shopping galleries in Spain.

The Maldà Cinema opened its doors on December 4, 1945 with a special program that included "The Chimera of Gold", Charles Chaplin's 1925 classic, accompanied by different short films and the obligatory no-do.

The cinema went on to perform Art and Essay programming, auteur cinema in the original version with subtitles and regardless of the limitations of commercial cinema.
